Contact Collections

AddressBox organizes your contacts into collections. There are two main categories of collections: Data Sources and Groups.

You can delete a collection from AddressBox or send mails to every contact of a collection by opening the context menu. You can do so by either right-clicking on an entry or clicking while holding down the ctrl key.

To add or remove collections, use the + and - buttons under the collection list.

Data Source

Data Sources are the home of the contacts. Every contact is part of exactly one data source. One example is the "Contact" data source, which contains all the entries from synced with your systems You can also create your own data source, which will be saved locally in AddressBox.

Each data source not only manages the contacts, but also the fields that are available. Every contact in a data source can have the same fields as all the other contacts and it is always clear that the address entered in the "home" address field of one contact has the same meaning as the address entered in the "home" address field of another contact.

You can organize your contacts using groups. Each group can contain any contact from any data source and a contact can be part of more than one group.

Smart Groups

Smart Groups are very similar to groups, except that they organize themselves. You can specify a rules (or multiple rules) by which a smart group decides if a contact should be included or not. You cannot manually add contacts to a smart group.
